أكد أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة، تحلي لاعبي منتخب مصر الأول بالحمية والطاقة كان مُفتقدًا في بعض الفترات، مشيرًا إلى أن اللاعبين أدوا بنجاح بداية من البطولة العربية.

وقال صبحي في تصريحات تلفزيونية بفضائية “الحياة” ببرنامج “كورة كل يوم”: “هناك حمية وطاقة لدى اللاعبين، يريدون صناعة شيئا لبلدهم، وهذا شعور مهم جدًا كنا نفقده لفترة من الفترات في منتخب مصر”.

وأضاف: “أرى أن اللاعبين أدوا بنجاح، بداية من البطولة العربية وحتى كأس أمم إفريقيا”.

وتابع: “خضنا مباراة في مصر ويتبقى الأخرى في السنغال، نتمنى التوفيق لمنتخب مصر”.

وأردف: “محمد صلاح قال إن جميع اللاعبين رجال، وإن شاء الله سيبذلون كل الجهد”.

وواصل: “الفرص تكاد تكون متساوية في مباراة العودة في السنغال، وحال توفيقنا بإحراز هدف واحد فالأمور ستكون صعبة على منتخب السنغال”.

وأتم: “يوجد زيادة في المكافأة من اتحاد الكرة حال تأهل المنتخب لكأس العالم، وهذا ما أعلنه جمال علام بشكل رسمي، وأنا وعدت اللاعبين بالأمس بأن الحافز سيكون كبيرًا لهم بناءً على نتيجتي المباراتين أمام السنغال”.

أشار تيبو كورتوا حارس مرمى ريال مدريد إلى أنه ليس متأكدًا من أحقية فريقه بالفوز أمام سيلتا فيجو في المباراة التي جمعتهما مساء السبت بمنافسات الدوري الإسباني، مما أبقاه في صدارة ترتيب الليجا.

وتغلب فريق مدريد على سيلتا فيجو بصعوبة كبيرة وفعل ذلك بفضل هدفين من ركلات الجزاء سجلهما بنزيما، كانت مساهمة الحارس ضرورية أيضًا، حيث تدخل مرتين في الشوط الأول لإنقاذ المدريديستا، وتم إلغاء هدف لإياجو أسباس.

وفي تصريحات نشرتها صحيفة “ماركا” الإسبانية، قال كورتوا: “إنها مباراة صعبة للغاية، أتيت إلى هنا لتعاني، كل المباريات التي لعبتها هنا كانت صعبة للغاية”.

وسُئل كورتوا عن ركلات الجزاء الثلاثة، وأجاب: “الأولى والثانية رأيتهما بوضوح شديد، الثالثة من موقعي في حراسة المرمى كان الأمر أكثر صعوبة لرؤيتها، لكن إذا وضعت قدمك بهذه الطريقة، فإنهم يمنحوننا ثلاث ركلات جزاء لصالحنا وكلها صحيحة”.

وبشأن إلغاء هدف أسباس، استطرد حارس مرمى ريال مدريد: “هو يسدد، أقوم بالتصدي وأدفع الكرة إلى القائم، إياجو كان متسللاً ومنع ألابا من أخذ الكرة، إنه تسلل وهو يعرف ذلك”.

وأتم كورتوا حديثه معلقًا على المباراة المرتقبة ضد تشيلسي فريقه السابق: “تشيلسي قوي رغم أنه خسر على أرضه اليوم،  وسيكونون أقوياء للغاية يوم الأربعاء، نحن نفتقر إلى القوة في بعض الأحيان، تشيلسي جيد في ذلك”.

Having secured Championship survival with relative ease last season, Birmingham City manager Lee Bowyer will now be turning his attention to the summer transfer window in a bid to ensure that the Blues continue their upward trajectory next term.

While the 44-year-old has claimed that he will not be spending big with the hope of a dramatic climb up the second tier standings next season, but rather hoping to gradually build a side capable of mounting a promotion push, one player the club have been linked to would appear to be an extremely astute addition to his squad at St. Andrew’s ahead of next year.

That player is Dion Sanderson, with the Northern Echo suggesting that Wolverhampton Wanderers are prepared to cash in on the 21-year-old centre-back this summer, as long as an interested party coughs up their £2m asking price.

Bowyer must move

After joining Sunderland on what was supposed to be a season-long loan deal last October, Sanderson quickly went on to establish himself as a first-team regular in Lee Johnson’s side, turning in a number of impressive performances for the Black Cats – prior to picking up a season-ending injury in the closing stages of Sunderland’s campaign.

Indeed, over his 26 League One appearances last season, the £135k-rated defender helped his side keep eight clean sheets and scored one goal, as well as making 0.9 interceptions, one tackle and winning 4.3 duels per game.

These returns saw the centre-back earn a seasonal SofaScore match rating of 6.92, ranking him as Johnson’s 13th-best performer in the third tier of English football.

The Wolves defender also spent half a season on loan at Cardiff City back in 2020, where he made 10 Championship appearances for the Bluebirds, registering two assists and helping his side keep four clean sheets, in addition to making an average of 1.4 interceptions, 1.2 tackles and winning 3.7 duels per fixture – earning an average SofaScore match rating of 6.77.

As such, considering how solid Sanderson’s performances have been for both Sunderland and Cardiff, as well as the fact that the 21-year-old defender – who Johnson claimed is already a “Rolls Royce” – still has much developing to do in his professional career, if Bowyer can go on to seal a deal for the Wolves man this summer, especially for a very reasonable £2m fee, it would appear to be an extremely impressive piece of business for the Blues.

His 11 wickets in six matches were taken at a cost of 12.63 runs while his economy rate was an impressive 2.83 runs per over.In nine matches for the State Insurance CD women’s team Graham scored 152 runs at 21.71 and took 10 wickets at 15.10 with a best of four for 32.Graham, who has captained the Central Districts side for the last two seasons, is now second on the all-time list for appearances for CD. She has 75, four less than record holder Elizabeth Signal.Graham is seventh on the CD all-time list of run scorers with 842 runs while her 96 wickets are second on the bowling list behind the 202 taken by Signal.

Manchester City have been heavily linked with Sassuolo midfielder Manuel Locatelli in recent months and after a superb display for Italy at Euro 2020 against Switzerland earlier this week, Txiki Begiristain and Pep Guardiola should look to bring him to the Etihad this summer.

City have regularly been credited with an interest in the former AC Milan man, with Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano claiming recently that the Etihad outfit have scouted him for a long time.

However, it seems as if Juventus are currently leading the race for the 23-year-old, whilst Arsenal and Chelsea are also keen on a deal, so the Citizens will have to act quickly if they want to bring him in this summer.

It certainly seems likely that the Italian will depart Sassuolo this summer, as they could only muster an eighth-place finish in Serie A last season and a player of Locatelli’s quality deserves to be playing in the Champions League.

He showed his class in the opening game of the Euro 2020 Championships as Italy beat Turkey 3-0, earning a solid 7.02 rating from WhoScored for his performance but he was exceptional in their most recent game against Switzerland, scoring twice and earning an excellent 8.69 rating in another 3-0 win.

The young midfielder first spread the play beautifully with a left-footed volley to Sassuolo teammate Dominico Berardi before bursting into the box and tapping in his cutback, before doubling the Italians lead with an emphatic finish from outside the box.

Following the game, Dion Dublin was full of praise for Locatelli on the BBC analysis of the game, suggesting that the “intelligent” midfielder was key to Roberto Mancini’s side’s victory and their progression to the last 16.

His performances for Sassuolo last season, where he averaged an impressive 7.08 rating from WhoScored in Serie A, certainly suggest that he could be a stellar addition to Guardiola’s side this summer and if he continues to impress at Euro 2020, then there seems no reason why City shouldn’t look to bring him to the Etihad ahead of next season.
