Plenty of Crystal Palace fans have reacted to Roy Hodgson’s latest comments regarding his future after they emerged on social media.

Hodgson, 73, is out of contract at Selhurst Park in around seven weeks time, however, the club or the manager are yet to confirm their plans for the 2021/22 season.

A number of managers have been linked with replacing Hodgson, including Sean Dyche, Frank Lampard, Eddie Howe, Patrick Vieira and Paulo Fonseca.

Palace fell to a 3-1 defeat to Southampton on Tuesday evening, and talking after the game, Hodgson was quizzed on his future.

Talking to Sky, relayed by Guardian reporter Ed Aarons on social media, Hodgson confirmed he will inform relevant parties on what he plans to do at the end of the season.

“I shall let people know what I shall be doing at the end of the season when the time is right. But I’m not going to answer the question until such time as I want to.”

The Eagles still have three Premier League fixtures remaining, with their final match of the season against Liverpool at Anfield on May 23.

يفكر نادي أستون فيلا في إعادة جورجينيو فينالدوم لاعب باريس سان جيرمان إلى الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز، في الصيف المقبل.

وكان فينالدوم قد رحل عن إنجلترا بمغادرة ليفربول الصيف الماضي، عقب انتهاء عقده، حيث انضم إلى باريس سان جيرمان في صفقة مجانية.

وفشل لاعب الوسط الهولندي في إثبات نفسه مع الأمراء الفرنسيين خاصة أنه لم يحصل على فرص لعب منتظم، واعترف قبل ذلك أنه لا يشعر بحالة من السعادة في النادي الباريسي.

وذكرت صحيفة “ذا صن” الإنجليزية، نقلًا عن “سبورت” الإسبانية، أن أستون فيلا يدرس إمكانية التعاقد مع جورجينيو فينالدوم من صفوف باريس سان جيرمان نهاية الموسم الحالي.

وأوضحت أن أستون فيلا بقيادة المدرب ستيفن جيرارد يراقب وضع فينالدوم عن كثب مع سان جيرمان تحسبًا لإمكانية ضمه.

وأشارت إلى أن باريس سان جيرمان مستعد للسماح برحيل فينالدوم، الذي سينتهي عقده في 2024، مقابل 21 مليون جنيه إسترليني.

وأفادت أن جيرارد حريص على ضم اللاعب البالغ من العمر 31 عامًا، والذي انضم إلى الريدز بعد عام واحد فقط من رحيله إلى لوس أنجلوس جالاكسي.

The Lowdown: Busy summer ahead

This campaign has been a mixed one for the Saints. It started positively – they were top of the Premier League at one point – and they also reached the FA Cup semi-final. However, they underperformed against Leicester City at Wembley as they lost 1-0, while they have dropped into the bottom half of the league table and were very much looking like they could be in relegation trouble until recent weeks.

With Ryan Bertrand confirmed to be leaving (southamptonfc.com) and Danny Ings linked with a move away (Sky Sports), there could be plenty of transfer business conducted at St. Mary’s Stadium this summer.

The Latest: Saints eye Loftus-Cheek

In terms of arrivals, it is being reported that Ralph Hasenhuttl and co are interested in midfielder Loftus-Cheek, who has spent the season on loan at relegated Fulham.

The Saints are said to be eager to sign him on a season-long loan with a view to a permanent deal if the agreement is a success. He is believed to be valued by the Blues at £20m and earns £120,000 a week.

The Verdict: Unfulfilled potential

Loftus-Cheek, it feels, has been around for years, yet he is still to fulfil his undoubtedly huge potential. He has made 82 appearances for Chelsea, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists (Transfermarkt), while he also has 10 England caps to his name. Yet, at the age of 25, he has just spent the season at a side who will be dropping back down to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel recently compared him to Michael Ballack, who scored 151 goals throughout an illustrious career. That suggests he may have a chance of making it at Stamford Bridge, but with the plethora of options available to Tuchel, there is no guarantee. A switch to Southampton could be a fantastic move for all involved.

Speaking on Italian television show Si Gonfia La Rete (via Area Napoli), journalist Raffaele Auriemma has dropped a Tottenham Hotspur managerial claim involving Maurizio Sarri – with the reporter claiming he ‘would like’ to join either Spurs or Arsenal.

The Lowdown: Sarri touted as candidate

When it comes to Sarri, the media in England and Italy have two very contrasting views on the 62-year-old possibly being appointed by Tottenham.

On one hand, Football Italia and Calciomercato.it both claim that Tottenham have actually even made contact with the former Chelsea manager.

Sources closes to home, however, like football.london reporter Alasdair Gold, dismiss Sarri as a boss currently attracting interest from Spurs.

The Latest: Sarri ‘would like’ to join Spurs

Bringing another claim from Italy, journalist Auriemma has told TV show Si Gonfia La Rete that Sarri (via Area Napoli) ‘would like’ to join either Spurs or Arsenal.

The reporter wasn’t alone, either, with another journalist on the programme, Christian Bosco, stating the Serie A-winning boss ‘would prefer’ a move back to the Premier League.

It is also added by Auriemma that Sarri’s agent, Fali Ramadani, was in England ‘until a few days ago’.

The Verdict: Spurs, you know what to do…

The Transfer Tavern has often promoted Sarri as an ideal candidate for the Spurs job and somebody chairman Daniel Levy shouldn’t dismiss so quickly.

He promotes a possession-based, high-pressing style which should be a real incentive for Tottenham to consider making the move.

It is reported that Levy desires a boss who can bring back an attack-minded way of playing and Sarri may be a brilliant candidate to reinstall that exciting brand of football at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Sarri has an admirer, too, in Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.

The Spaniard, in awe of Sarri’s managerial style, lauded him as ‘one of the absolute best’ who implements a style of football which is ‘out of this world’ (Planet Football).

He is available, a free agent and allegedly keen on the job – Levy, you know what to do.

Em entrevista ao programa “Seleção Sportv”, o médico intensivista da Chapecoense,Edson Stakonski, comentou sobre a situação dos quatro brasileiro vítimas do acidente com o voo da Chapecoense há 14 dias.

De acordo comStakonski, o zagueiro Neto, o último a ser resgatado com vida, não deve demorar muito para seguir o caminho do jornalista Rafael Henzel e dos jogadores Alan Ruschel e Jackson Follmann, e deve vir para o Brasil para finalizar o tratamento ainda nesta semana.

– Hoje eu pedi alguns exames. Pedi uma tomografia de tórax para ver como está a situação pulmonar dele. Está bem, sem nenhum sinal de pneumonia de imagem. -Está muito bem, está estável, sem nenhum suporte. Ele evoluiu muito favorável nos últimos dias, apesar do estado crítico que ele estava na semana passada, mas ele é um guerreiro, está bem, sem suporte ventilatório nenhum, já está em unidade de cuidados semi-intensivo- disse Edson.

– Ontem foi contado para ele toda a história do acidente. Até então ele achava que tinha se machucado durante o jogo, mas achava estranho aquelas lesões serem de jogo. Ele está estável. Encarou bem isso, como uma segunda chance de vida, que ele tem algo para crescer-completou.

Por fim, o médico comentou que tem estimulado Neto a não tentar se lembrar do acidentes.

– Apartir do momento que nós contamos que foi um acidente ele começou a se lembrar. Ele começou a assistir alguns vídeos, eu tive uma conversa com ele para que ele pare de assistir esses vídeos, pare de instigar a lembrança dele para retornar, porque é importante que ele se mantenha forte para se recuperar- finalizou.

-O Rafael e o Alan estavam ansiosos, um pouco tensos com toda a essa logística de transferência, um pouco preocupados, mas estavam bem tranquilos e confiantes com o retorno para casa.Clinicamente estavam bem, uma condição clínica bem estável. وواصل: “محمد صلاح قد يكون الخيار الأفضل بالنسبة لمنظومة تشافي مدرب برشلونة ومشروعه، وقد يكون القطعة الناقصة بالنسبة للمدرب، ولكن لا أعتقد أن برشلونة قادر على دفع راتب صلاح”.

وأردف: “أتوقع أول اختيار لمحمد صلاح حال رحيله عن ليفربول سيكون خارج انجلترا، وأكثر ناديين مناسبين لصلاح ريال مدريد وبايرن ميونخ، ولكن باريس سان جيرمان هناك جزء من المخاطرة لأنه لا يسير بشكل جيد”.

وأكمل: “تقابلت مع رامي عباس وكيل أعمال محمد صلاح، وهو شخص ذكي جدًا، ردود فعله على تويتر ممكن (تأذي) صلاح أكثر ما تفيده، نادي ليفربول لن يتأثر بمثل هذه الأمور، صلاح ورامي عباس محظوظين أنهم مع مدرب متزن جدًا في كلامه مثل كلوب، لو مورينيو كان فعل مشكلة مع صلاح وهذه المشكلة كان ممكن تأتي بالسلب على الفريق”.

O Cruzeiro está a um passo de anunciar Jadson como novo reforço para 2017. O jogador que foi um dos destaques do Corinthians em 2015, campanha que deu o título brasileiro para o clube. Na última semana, em entrevista coletiva, Gilvan de Pinho Tavares, presidente do Cruzeiro, declarou que o clube estava em negociação com um jogador do exterior, mas não divulgou nomes. Optou por manter o mistério da contratação.

– Já estamos acertados verbalmente com o clube e com o jogador. Esperamos apenas pela assinatura do contrato – disse o presidente.

As portas para clubes tentarem trazer Jadson de volta ao Brasil foram abertas quando o novo técnico do clube chinês, o italiano Fabio Cannavaro, declarou que pretendia contratar novos jogadores estrangeiros.

Leicester City could land their perfect heir to Jonny Evans this summer after being linked with a move for Inter defender Andreaw Gravillon.

What’s the story?

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, the Foxes are one of many clubs interested in acquiring the 23-year-old’s services this summer after his impressive loan spell at Ligue 1 outfit Lorient.

The report claims fellow Premier League sides Southampton and Crystal Palace are also monitoring Gravillon’s situation, as well as several big European clubs, including Marseille, Olympiacos and Anderlecht.

New Jonny Evans

Gravillon caught the eye as he played a pivotal part in Lorient’s fight to retain their top-flight status, starting 26 league games, scoring once and providing two assists in the process.

It was against former French champions Paris Saint-Germain when Gravillon particularly rose to prominence. The towering defender made eight clearances and six interceptions – both the highest totals on the pitch – as Les Merlus defeated the capital club 3-2.

His WhoScored rating of 7.51 was the highest of any non-goalscorer, and the Parisians only got the better of Gravillon via two Neymar penalties, with Kylian Mbappe experiencing a remarkably quiet night, as his 6.11 rating shows.

Christophe Pelissier’s side are reportedly keen to retain the Frenchman’s service for next season, but they’ll face stiff competition from the likes of Leicester.

The San Siro academy graduate had previously enjoyed a string of other loan spells before he found his feet in his homeland in 2020/21 and now looks set for a permanent move away from the Italian champions.

In a recent interview, Gravillon revealed he’s open-minded about where his future may lie, admitting nothing has been decided yet.

“Once the season is over, we will see with my agents whether we should stay in Lorient, return to Inter, go elsewhere. We do not know. We’ll see. We will wait until the season to see how things will go, ” he said.

His comments leave the door open to a possible summer switch to the King Power Stadium, where Gravillon could be the perfect heir to an ageing Jonny Evans.

The 33-year-old Northern Ireland international was one of a number of centre-back options who picked up a string of injuries in the recently concluded campaign as Brendan Rodgers’ charges finished fifth, and the departure of Wes Morgan means reinforcements are required for the Midlands outfit.

Comfortable playing at right-back as well as his preferred role in the heart of defence, the £4.5m-rated (as per Transfermarkt) Gravillon appears to be a logical fit for Leicester, and the club’s director of football Jon Rudkin may have already found the Foxes’ future replacement for their first-choice centre-half.
