Cuca também explicou sua opção por Gabriel na lateral-direita da equipe. Jean cumpriu suspensão e João Pedro se lesionou. As opções do técnico eram Tchê Tchê, que seguiu atuando no meio e Fabiano, à disposição no banco de reservas do Verdão.

– Já vão querer dizer que eu improvisei um jogador na lateral, mas a opção foi clara, eu precisava de um marcador. Luan (do Grêmio) flutua muito em campo, o Gabriel conseguiu quase fazer um trabalho de marcação individual nele, nos ajudou muito em campo.

Técnico tira o peso de ‘final’ contra o Flamengo

تشافي يرغب في تعزيز مركز الهجوم كأولوية، ولكن في الوقت ذاته يسعى للتعاقد مع لاعب ظهير خلال فترة الانتقالات الشتوية الجارية.

برشلونة يريد التعاقد مع اللاعب البلجيكي صاحب الـ30 عامًا، لمدة 6 أشهر على سبيل الإعارة حتى نهاية الموسم الجاري.

Liverpool midfielder Naby Keita has been linked with a shock summer move to Leicester City, with Brendan Rodgers eyeing him up.

The Guinean arrived at Anfield to much excitement back in the summer of 2018, having actually signed from RB Leipzig the previous year.

Keita’s Liverpool career has been a curious one to date, however, with good performances thrown in, but injuries affecting his progress and his impact not as great as many expected.

The 26-year-old has been limited to just seven Premier League starts in 2020/21, again highlighting his lack of playing time.

According to Football Insider, Leicester are ‘keeping tabs’ on Keita, with Rodgers described as a ‘big admirer’ of the Liverpool man.

There is no indication that the Reds are willing to move him on at the end of the season, however, so the Foxes’ efforts may be in vain.

It would be a big surprise if Klopp allowed Keita to leave in the summer, even though he clearly hasn’t yet exploded in a Liverpool shirt. He has been described as ‘world class’ by Virgil van Dijk, which speaks volumes.

With Gini Wijnaldum potentially moving on, more opportunities could come his way moving forward, and he has been perfectly effective, when fit.

Keita needs to go up a level if he is to avoid being seen as a disappointing signing, but at 26, he still has time on his side and is a player with huge amounts of quality.

No entanto, o prestígio do meia não para de crescer com o técnico Dorival Júnior e sua comissão técnica e, principalmente, com a diretoria. Até então, Elano era visto como um jogador experiente (está com 35 anos) que ajuda o treinador e seu auxiliar durante as partidas.

Mas isso está mudando. Em 2015, Elano jogou 23 partidas, apenas três sob o comando de Dorival, antes de retornar à Índia. Nesta temporada, ele já atuou quatro vezes mais. O treinador crê que o veterano dá mais leitura de jogo e percepção tática ao restante da equipe, mas ainda não definiu quem joga.

Na diretoria santista, os planos para o seu futuro são ainda maiores. Com o contrato vencendo no fim deste ano, Modesto Roma Júnior e seus pares querem renovar até dezembro de 2017 e prepar Elano para assumir uma função que será uma espécie de elo entre diretoria e comissão.

O meia, no entanto, não escondeu em suas últimas entrevistas que seu objetivo para o futuro é seguir uma carreira na área técnica, seja como treinador ou auxiliar.

Glasgow Rangers are livid at journalist Angela Haggerty after she shared her opinion on the Gers boycotting social media to continue their fight against racism.

The Gers have decided to boycott all of their social media platforms for seven days as they try to combat racism (via Sky Sports). This comes after Glen Kamara accused Ondrej Kudela of racial abuse during the match between Rangers and Slavia Prague at Ibrox last month – Kudela has been provisionally banned for one game as UEFA continue to look into the allegations (via espn.com).

The reason for the boycott is to try and bring an end to racism in the sport, especially on social media platforms. Haggerty, however, has used it as an opportunity to score points, saying that while it is good Rangers are taking action, racism would actually decline on social media if the Gers fans themselves also boycotted.

The comments, which were shared on Haggerty’s Twitter account, did not go down well at all with the Gers supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.

يذكر، أن منتخب مصر قد نجح في الظفر ببطاقة الصعود لنصف نهائي الكان بعد فوز على المغرب في دور الـ8 بهدفين مقابل هدف.

When Raul Jimenez signed for Wolves, many supporters might have been justified if they met the acquisition with a degree of scepticism.

Since Fosun had taken over the club, their recruitment from an offensive point of view hadn’t exactly set the world alight. They did bring in Diogo Jota and Helder Costa in the Championship but, as far as an out and out striker goes, it wasn’t particularly eye-catching.

They brought in the likes of Benik Afobe, Ivan Cavaleiro, Leo Bonatini and Rafa Mir. The less said about their stints at Molineux the better.

Mir has been particularly anonymous in a Wolves shirt and is yet to score in the Old Gold. However, he is currently among some of the top scorers in La Liga while on loan at Huesca.

There has been one anomaly down the years – Raul Jimenez. The Mexican has become a shining light in this Wolves side and is a beacon of hope in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.

It wasn’t a signing which set the world alight initially, though. Jimenez arrived in the Premier League on loan having failed to really have an impact on European shores.

The forward had scored just once for Atletico Madrid in 28 outings and then fired in 31 in 120 for Benfica. Far from a regular goalscorer, he has now blossomed into one of the most consistent forwards in the English top flight.

Jimenez was valued at just £9m in 2018 but, since his move to Wolves, his value has increased substantially to £31.5m, an increase of 250%. At one stage, it had even risen to a whopping £45m (Transfermarkt). The reason for this rise is simple; he scores goals.

During his first year in English football, the 29-year-old netted 17 times in 44 outings, form which earned him a permanent £30m move to Wolves. At the time, that fee was their club-record transfer.

Jimenez has only improved as the years have passed. As his value rose beyond the £40m mark, the Wolves striker scored 27 goals and racked up 10 assists during the 2019/20 campaign.

It was a wonderful campaign for the Mexican as he also impressed in Europe, beating the goalkeeper on four occasions. 2019 was a stunning year for Jimenez but it was a brutal one too as he played 69 matches for club and country.

His performances have been so good, though, that not only has he earned praise from his manager, someone who describes him as “special”, but also his opponents.

Ilkay Gundogan said in 2020: “I think he has everything a world-class striker needs”. The Manchester City midfielder added: “For a striker he is so mobile, but also physically so good and talented technically on the ball. I can imagine him playing with us.

“Maybe [he’s] not on that level yet, but he reminds me a little bit of Lewandowski because I’ve played with him. In terms of style I think there is still a lot of potential.”

Jimenez has been a key component for Wolves, so much so that without him they have faded.

The Old Gold attacker suffered a fractured skull back in November when playing against Arsenal and hasn’t featured since.

Nuno’s men have duly suffered the consequences. They are 12th in the Premier League and have struggled to score goals without their talisman. Willian Jose hasn’t found the net at all after his January arrival, while new club-record signing Fabio Silva has only netted three times all season.

Wolves fans will no doubt be pining for Jimenez’s return.

O irreverente atacante não voltou para o campo após o intervalo do confronto com o Cruzeiro do dia 11 de setembro. Ali, Canales até deu conta e fez o único dele pelo Glorioso até aqui. O Botafogo vai encarar o Figueirense, amanhã, com uma das melhores campanhas deste segundo turno. A tentativa é de manter os pés no chão, mas é bom se prevenir contra um time que briga na parte de baixo. Até porque, não faz muito tempo, o Glorioso perdeu para o lanterna América-MG. Também fora de casa.
