Contra o Cuiabá, em casa, foi a última vez que o treinador escalou 100% a equipe titular, e consequentemente, apesar do resultado, foi a melhor atuação do time dos últimos três duelos. Foram 28 finalizações, 75% de posse de bola e mais de 640 passes trocados. Porém, os donos da casa não contavam com a cera do adversário, defesas milagrosas e uma linha de cerca de oito jogadores na defesa. Ao fim do jogo, apenas sete minutos foram acrescentados.

O duelo contra o Vitória talvez tenha sido a pior atuação da equipe dentre os três empates. Mas, de novo, a cera adversária causou a quebra de ritmo de jogadas de ataque. Seis minutos foram acrescentados.

A partir do empate contra o Cuiabá, as equipes entenderam o que era preciso fazer para se tirar pontos do Alvinegro. Após a expulsão de Rubens, no duelo contra o Atlético-MG, Gabriel Milito fechou o time, e o que se viu foi um jogo de um time só. O Botafogo atacava, e o Galo defendia. Em momento de desespero, Artur Jorge opta por colocar todas as armas no ataque. No duelo deste sábado, o jogo terminou com cinco atacantes alvinegros em campo. Apesar de ter aumentado as chances de perigo e a pressão no final do jogo, não tiveram tempo o suficiente para quebrar a marcação.

Antes disso, a falta de criatividade foi um dos principais fatores para a queda no volume ofensivo. A recent transfer report has divided Liverpool supporters on social media this week.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the Reds have submitted an offer for Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele which is a loan that comes with an option to buy.

Many at Anfield believe this would be a superb move with some left drooling by the prospect of Jurgen Klopp working his magic on the Frenchman.

The 23-year-old previously broke through at Borussia Dortmund under the German boss, resulting in a big-money move, thought to be around £135.5m, to La Liga giants Barcelona.

The proposed takeover of Newcastle United could have potentially been boosted by the latest activity from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA).

According to the Financial Times (FT), the country have approached the Bundesliga to see if they can gain the TV rights to show their games in the Middle East in the latest attempt to seek new investments in football.

The governing body that runs Germany’s highest division are currently in exclusive talks with Qatari-based beIN Sports to renew their deal of five years with the company, which equates to $250 million (roughly £200.9 million).

However, this deal runs out when the 2019/20 German season finishes, meaning that the Saudis could be looking to pounce if a new contract cannot be agreed.

This could be a potential sign that the prospective takeover of the Tyneside club will happen, as the KSA are now looking to invest in a different major footballing league to the English Premier League.

Qatar accused Saudi Arabia of running the pirate satellite television channel beoutQ, which illegally broadcasts and streams live games from the top flight, in their own country, hence breaking their own international laws as the Qataris solely hold the rights to show these types of matches in their part of the world.

KSA were found guilty of this by the World Trade Organisation (WTO) following the release of their report, meaning that the country have had to look elsewhere for rights to show the beautiful game.

However, the fact that they now seem to be turning their attentions away from England’s highest division and are now looking to buy footballing TV rights legally may be a sign that the Public Investment Fund (PIF)’s £300 million deal to buy out Mike Ashley may indeed come into fruition from their bid to stamp out piracy in their country.

Na véspera do clássico decisivo entre Goiás e Vila Nova pela semifinal do Campeonato Goiano sub-20, dois atletas do Tigre da Vila Famosa causaram polêmica ao serem expostos em uma foto na qual supostamente estão urinando sob o escudo do rival. A foto dos jogadores Bruno e Luizão, que já atuaram pelo time principal, ainda foi publicada em redes sociais e também em grupos de Whatsapp.

Os atletas do Goiás souberam da imagem e não gostaram da atitude dos rivais. O meia Daniel Carvalho, inclusive, publicou em sua conta no Instagram uma mensagem cobrando respeito:

– Como podemos querer paz no futebol, nas arquibancadas e nos estádios com atitudes como esta? Antes de sermos jogadores de futebol, de vestirmos uma ou outra camisa, somos cidadãos, vivemos em uma sociedade e precisamos respeitar as diferenças! Precisamos entender que o que nos une é maior do que o que nos separa – escreveu o jogador esmeraldino, que não participará do clássico deste domingo por conta de uma lesão.

Antes da decisão com o Vila Nova, o Goiás também se manifestou. Em seu site oficial, o clube publicou uma nota que repudia a atitude dos jogadores.

According to Sky Sports, Tottenham are in talks with Southampton over signing Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg this summer.

What’s the word?

Reports in recent weeks had suggested Jose Mourinho’s side were keen on bringing the Denmark international to north London, and now Sky Sports claim the Lilywhites have stepped up their interest in the midfielder.

Along with fellow Premier League side Everton, Spurs are locked in talks with Southampton over a deal to sign Hojbjerg, with the north Londoners keen on including Kyle Walker-Peters – the right-back is currently on loan at St Mary’s.

It’s further suggested that Spurs have yet to reach Hojbjerg’s £25m valuation, although the midfielder himself would prefer a move to Mourinho’s team over a switch to Everton.

Unlocking Ndombele

In what has been a difficult debut season for Tanguy Ndombele, Mourinho recently confirmed that the Frenchman would now miss the rest of the season thanks to an injury.

But ahead of the next campaign, bringing in a player like Hojbjerg, could actually hold the key to unlocking the former Lyon man’s true potential.

Hojbjerg is more of a natural ball-winning midfielder – he has averaged 2.5 tackles per game this season – and having him sit in front of the back-four, and rid Ndombele of any added defensive responsibility could allow him to thrive in a more attacking sense.

No longer would he have to worry constantly about staying switched or marking tightly. Hojbjerg could take on that burden, and Spurs could give Ndombele the licence to maraud forward and be more of a threat.

When hearing about the north London side’s interest in Hojbjerg, Alex Bruce said: “He’s competitive, he’s a combative midfielder and that would obviously help Tottenham so he’d be a good one for them.”

But rather than just what the 6 foot 1 man can bring to the table himself, how he could also help in regards to Ndombele could be one of the key reasons behind his arrival.

وارتبط بول بوجبا بخطوة الرحيل عن مانشستر يونايتد والانتقال إلى فريق آخر، حيث يتواجد على رادار ريال مدريد الإسباني وناديه السابق يوفنتوس الإيطالي.

وذكرت شبكة “جول” العالمية، نقلًا عن “ديلي إكسبريس” الإنجليزية، أن إدارة مانشستر يونايتد تسعى بكل قوة إلى الاحتفاظ بخدمات بول بوجبا.

وأوضحت أن مانشستر يونايتد مستعد لمنح بوجبا عقدًا جديدًا، حيث سيصبح بمقتضاه اللاعب الأعلى أجرًا في الدوري الإنجليزي الممتاز.

وأفادت أن بوجبا سيحصل بمقتضى العقد الجديد على راتب أسبوعي قدره 400 ألف جنيه إسترليني، أي 26 مليون يورو في الموسم الواحد.

وأشارت إلى أن هذا العقد سيكون ساريًا لعدة سنوات، دون الكشف عنها، ولكن مانشستر يونايتد يعمل جاهدًا على إقناع بوجبا بتلك الخطوة.

Manchester United are set to spring a surprise and try to beat Liverpool to sign Watford star Ismaila Sarr this summer, according to The Daily Mirror. 

Man United will face stiff competition from Borussia Dortmund and the Reds for his signature.

Sarr, who is currently valued at £22m, has shined despite the fact the Hornets have struggled since the Premier League restart.

The Red Devils are reportedly keen to sign the Watford winger as a possible alternative to Jadon Sancho in the summer.

It’s no secret that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs a new right winger, as Daniel James just simply isn’t up to the standards required.

Sarr, 22, has scored five goals and supplied three assists in the Premier League this season, taking 1.6 shots and averaging 1.7 dribbles per game (via WhoScored). He scored twice as the Hornets ran riot over Liverpool at Vicarage Road in March, ending their hopes of staying unbeaten for the entire campaign.

Watford signed the Senegal winger from Rennes for a club record fee last year and they will surely be looking to recoup some of the £25m they paid  for him in August.

Club legend Gary Neville described him as a “big talent” and suggested his old side will be looking at the youngster as a cheaper alternative to Sancho, who could cost more than £100m if he leaves the Signal Iduna Park.

As it stands, it looks increasingly likely Sancho will stay in Germany, as United are unwilling to meet Dortmund’s staggering asking price.

They could turn their attention to Sarr instead, who could become a top Premier League player if Solskjaer can get the best out of his obvious potential. Nigel Pearson has already left Vicarage Road, and now may be the perfect time for United to strike, as Watford find themselves in disarray.
