يرى زكي عبد الفتاح مدرب حراس مرمى منتخب مصر السابق، أن أحمد الشناوي حارس بيراميدز يعد أفضل من تواجد في مصر بعد حارس الأهلي السابق إكرامي الشحات.

وقال عبد الفتاح خلال تصريحات لبرنامج “البريمو” عبر قناة “تن”: “أحمد الشناوي حارس بيراميدز هو أفضل حارس مرمى أتى في مصر بعد إكرامي الشحات كإمكانيات، ولكن لا بد أن يلعب ولا يهمه الفريق أو الأموال”.

وأضاف: “أحمد الشناوي حارس مرمى ذو إمكانيات ومواصفات عالمية، وهو أفضل من قمت بتدريبه في المنتخب الوطني، وكنت أتمنى استمراره في صفوف الزمالك”.

وأردف: “محمد عواد حارس مرمى الزمالك متميز وأنصحه بالرحيل عن القلعة البيضاء حتى يتمكن من الحصول على فرصة حقيقية في المشاركة وإثبات جدارته بالعودة إلى صفوف المنتخب الوطني”.

وواصل: “مصطفى شوبير يتمتع بشخصية قوية وتنبأت له بمستقبل باهر منذ فترة طويلة، لكن مشكلته الكبرى هي أنه نجل الكابتن أحمد شوبير”.

It’s hard to say which squad is better, but it’s seemingly even harder to say which team has the better goalkeeper as Ederson and Alisson are both top quality stoppers – ranking second and first respectively in the Premier League for clean sheets last season.

Kevin De Bruyne was asked to take part in a FIFA challenge this week and he gave his opinion on the goalkeeper debate.

The Belgian was asked to give his thoughts on the best Premier League XI on FIFA 20, and first up was the Liverpool goalie.

Of course, it was always going to be an opinion-splitting decision for Alisson to be chosen over Ederson.

De Bruyne says that his teammate is ‘definitely better’ with his feet, but in the end he concedes that Alisson is a fantastic player, stating that he’s fine with him being rated higher after such a fantastic debut campaign in England.

The end of an era

Saying that Busquets’ career at Barcelona is at the very end would be a bit too much but we’re certainly getting into the latter stages of it, at the very least.

And sure, saying that about a 31-year-old player is not that big of a surprise but considering we’re talking about Busquets of all people, it does sound a bit strange.

Just the other night, the Spaniard was benched once again, his third omission from the starting lineup in the eight games that Barcelona have played so far in the 2019/20 La Liga season.

Not to mention that he remained on the bench for the entirety of their curtain-raiser against Athletic Bilbao and the clash against Granada. So far, he has tallied a total of 449 minutes in the opening eight games of the campaign while he had a total of 592 this time last season.

Furthermore, he was not once left on the bench in the 35 games played last season; he’s already been named among the substitutes twice this term.

Maybe it was the arrivals of Frenkie de Jong and the emergence of Arthur Melo or maybe it’s just time catching up with the 31-year-old midfielder, but it seems that he is bound to enjoy a much smaller role in the squad this season.

It remains to be seen if that will be to Barca’s detriment or not.

Patrick Vieira has recently said how it is his “dream” to coach Arsenal fans one day – and these supporters want it to happen sooner rather than later.

Arsenal fan accounts @WorldwideAFC and @AFTV both tweeted quotes from the Invincibles skipper, saying that he wants to touch a “very high level” with either Arsenal or France, to which many Arsenal fans responded with positive messages.

He said to RMC (via Tribal Football):

“If it’s my dream to coach Arsenal or Team France? Yes, like any player, when we do this job we want to touch the very high level.

“But the very high level – I can very well touch with OGC Nice from the moment we give ourselves the means to succeed and from the moment the way with which we work is quite consistent. But we do this job and I do this job for one day to be the coach of a team that participates in the Champions League.”

The 43-year-old is currently in his second role as a full-time manager. He started off his coaching career while at Manchester City – after finishing his playing career there – coaching their extremely talented U21 team. From there, he moved but stayed within the City Football Group, taking charge of New York City FC – a team also owned by the Abu Dhabi owners of Manchester City.

During his time in New York, he improved his position with each season that went by, starting by finishing fourth in 2016 to then second in 2017.
