أوضح جوزيب ماريا بارتوميو، رئيس نادي برشلونة الإسباني، فرص التعاقد مع ممفيس ديباي، مهاجم أولمبيك ليون الفرنسي.

وكان جان ميشيل أولاس، رئيس ليون، قد صرّح بأن رئيس برشلونة أخبره بعدم إمكانية ضم ديباي لأسباب مالية (طالع التفاصيل).

وتحدث بارتوميو في مقابلة صحيفة نشرتها صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية وأوضح: “المال ليس مشكلة للتفاوض ليون”.

وأضاف: “برشلونة لديه موارد كافية، ولكن قبل أن تتعاقد مع لاعبين، يتعين على اللاعبين الآخرين المغادرة”.

وأكد بارتوميو: “هناك بعض اللاعبين الذين سيغادرون صفوف برشلونة، وفي ذهننا لاعبين آخرين سنتعاقد معهم”.

Everton U23 manager David Unsworth waxed lyrical about 22-year-old goalkeeper Mateusz Hewelt following his display and clean sheet in the 2-0 win against Blackburn Rovers in Southport on Monday night, as per evertonfc.com.

What’s the word, then?

Well, the 22-year-old has been the first-choice for the U23s for a while now and he stepped up to the plate with a huge performance against the Lancashire outfit on Monday, with Unsworth seriously impressed with what he witnessed.

The one-time Toffees caretaker boss told evertonfc.com post-match: “That’s the best I’ve seen him.

“I’ve told him that. He made saves to keep us in the game and it was a fantastic performance. He gave us a platform to go and win the game. His was one of a number of outstanding performances.”

The goalkeeper made two brilliant saves to thwart Joseph Nuttall and John Buckley after Rovers started strongly, before goals from Bassala Sambou and Fraser Hornby eventually wrapped up the points for the Merseyside outfit.

What does future hold for Hewelt?

Despite being with the club since 2015 and the fact that he turns 23 years of age in September, he has only made one appearance in the first-team squad – away against Apollon Limassol in the Europa League in December 2017.

The stopper will surely be keen to prove that he can make the step up on a more regular basis sooner rather than later, and he may well have done exactly that with his latest display.

Marco Silva will be well aware of him and should be in direct contact with Unsworth to see who could be good enough to make the step up, and the 45-year-old’s latest comments prove he has the quality to make a difference.

With Jordan Pickford’s back-up Maarten Stekelenburg 36 years of age and only having just over a year remaining on his contract at Goodison Park, Hewelt could now be ready to seriously challenge the senior Toffees man.

Attacking midfielder Jack Grealish looks to be closing in on a return from an injury that has kept him out of action since December with his manager Dean Smith optimistic he could be available for the upcoming Stoke City clash.

Christian Eriksen struggled to make his mark in Tottenham Hotspur’s 2-1 defeat to Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Eriksen’s form has not been terrific in recent weeks, but he did score and register an assist in the team’s 3-1 win over Leicester City earlier this month.

There remain huge question marks surrounding the Dane’s future, though, with his current deal due to expire at the end of next season.

And a number of Tottenham fans believe that Eriksen’s struggles against Burnley were down to the fact that he wants to leave the club.

The criticism is perhaps quite harsh when considering that the 27-year-old has contributed seven goals and 12 assists this term.

Arsenal will be hoping for a strong finish to the season as they look to secure a top four spot in the Premier League.

A fine midweek win sees the Gunners right in the mix for the all important Champions League spots, and manager Unai Emery will be quietly pleased with how he has gone about his work in his first season in the English game.

However, a lack of signings in January was a slight cause for concern for the Gunners boss and their fans, and we here in the Tavern feel some action in the summer is needed if Arsenal are to continue to grow under Emery and challenge for honours.

Indeed, one man we feel could well be a good signing is 22-year-old Spaniard Fabain Ruiz, who has been putting in some fine displays for Napoli this season over in Serie A.

Valued already at £40m by Transfermarkt, it’s clear the Spanish midfielder has a big future, and with the Gunners always seeming to struggle to fully compete in the middle of the park, Ruiz might be the perfect sort of signing.

Not a huge ball winning midfielder but more of a player who can sit in midfield and dictate games, he could well dovetail nicely with the likes of Xhaka or Torreira, and he’d certainly bring a new element of class to the midfield at the Emirates.

New signings are going to be needed anyway, and moving for somene like Ruiz would be a shrewd move all around based on his age and ability.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has played down suggestions that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could be facing another spell on the sidelines.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has not played for Liverpool’s first team since picking up a severe knee injury almost 12 months ago against Roma.

The Englishman represented the club’s Under-23 side on Friday, though, playing 40 minutes of their clash with Derby County Under-23s.

The former Southampton youngster was replaced before the interval after feeling his hamstring, but Klopp has insisted that he has no concerns over the 25-year-old.

It remains to be seen when the midfielder is ready to turn out for Liverpool’s first team, but the club’s fans have been left pleased with Klopp’s latest update.

Indeed, there was a genuine fear that Oxlade-Chamberlain could be heading for another spell on the treatment table, but those concerns have been eased.

ويُعد اللاعب الإنجليزي أبرز أهداف الشياطين الحمر، هذا الصيف، حيث حاول النادي الإنجليزي التوصل إلى اتفاق مع نظيره الألماني حول تلك الصفقة وهي الخطوة التي لم تتم.
