Reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano has shared some news on Tottenham Hotspur and an "important deal" for them this week.
Who have Tottenham signed 2023?
Goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, young centre-back Ashley Phillips, defender Micky van de Ven, midfielder James Maddison, winger Manor Solomon, striker Alejo Veliz and forward Brennan Johnson all put pen to paper on moves to north London in the summer.
Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou and chairman Daniel Levy have overseen quite the shake up, with former superstar striker Harry Kane, Sergio Reguilon, Joe Rodon, Djed Spence, Harry Winks, Alfie Devine, Troy Parrott, Dane Scarlett, Davinson Sanchez and Tanguy Ndombele all going the other way.
Boosted by the arrival of Chief Football Officer Scott Munn too, it appears the Lilywhites mean business both on and off the field.
They've started the new Premier League campaign with real gusto; winning three out of their opening four matches and scoring just as many goals as league-leading Man City (11).
Following their opening day 2-2 draw at Brentford, Tottenham secured impressive wins over Man United, Bournemouth and Burnley as the Postecoglou era kicks off in promising fashion.
Spurs take on struggling Sheffield United this Saturday and appear quite likely to seal another crucial three points; going by the contrasting fortunes of both teams.
What's the latest Spurs transfer news?
While their beginning to 2023/2024 has been quite simply electric, Levy and Tottenham officials will also be looking at how to bolster Postecoglou's squad further heading into the winter window.
Despite late attempts. Spurs couldn't quite bring in a second central defensive signing over the summer. They were interested in a last-gasp move for Bournemouth centre-back Lloyd Kelly, but a switch to Spurs ultimately failed to materialise for the Englishman.
Journalist Dean Jones has also tipped them to sign a new out-and-out striker to replace Kane next year, so both positions may well be one to look at over the coming months.
However, one transfer they have managed to seal is the signing of exciting, highly-rated Croatian starlet Luka Vuskovic – who is apparently joining Postecogolou's side for around £12.5 million.
He cannot make the move to N17 until 2025, though, and must wait until he turns 18.
The 16-year-old has been called an "absolute unit" already by members of the media and is quickly amassing quite a reputation despite his tender age.
Sharing news on Vuskovic and his move to Tottenham, Romano dropped quite a cryptic update this week when speaking on his Here We Go podcast.
"Yes, I have the details, but I can’t share the details or they will kill me,” Romano joked (via TBR).
“No, I will try to give as many details as possible so we can share what happened. This is an important deal for Tottenham.
To see a player like Luka Vuskovic, wanted by many clubs in Europe, he was wanted by many clubs, PSG, wanted to sign him and Manchester City presented an official bid, two super clubs approached the player, and there was one more English club that I can’t say now, but I will say very soon.”
The teenager stands at a colossal 6 foot 3 and currently plies his trade for Hadjuk Split.

Até o fechamento desta reportagem, o novo técnico não havia sido oficializado, mas nos bastidores a contratação é dada como certa, restando apenas detalhes contratuais e a assinatura do vínculo para que Mancini seja anunciado como comandante corintiano até dezembro de 2021. O próprio presidente Andrés Sanchez, em coletiva virtual, confirmou a proposta pelo ex-Atlético-GO.
O mandatário, inclusive, era um dos defensores da permanência de Dyego Coelho, porém os resultados ruins e a iminente entrada do time na zona de rebaixamento do Brasileirão, fizeram Andrés mudar de ideia. A decisão, porém, vale destacar, já havia sido tomada antes da vexatória derrota de virada para o Ceará, por 2 a 1, quando o adversário teve um homem a menos por meia hora.

Sem contar que o término desta temporada será apenas em fevereiro de 2021. Essas indefinições atuaram como repelentes no mercado.
Com Vagner Mancini, o cenário foi diferente, já que ele topou um contrato até dezembro de 2021 (outros pediram dois ou três anos), com um salário bem abaixo do teto corintiano e sem imposições absurdas. A opção é vista como interessante para o cenário atual, de restrição financeira e calendário atípico, além de ser um profissional com “casca” para encarar o momento do time.

Manchester United are now leading the race to sign a "sensational" new midfielder, who could join in the January transfer window, according to a report.
Which midfielder are Man United signing?
Erik ten Hag has his sights set on a new midfielder this winter, and the manager is personally driving a move for Royal Antwerp's Arthur Vermeeren, as he is believed to be a big fan of the youngster, but Man United may have to make a swift approach.
That is because Barcelona are also interested in signing the 18-year-old, having already held talks with Antwerp chiefs to discuss a deal, prior to their Champions League clash against the Belgian Pro League side earlier this month.
Vermeeren is not the only young midfielder Ten Hag has his eye on, with LDU Quito's Oscar Zambrano also being named as a potential option, having impressed in the Ecuadorian top flight, although it is unclear whether the 19-year-old could go straight into the first team.
In the summer transfer window, the Red Devils reportedly turned down the chance to sign Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, but that has not put an end to speculation the midfielder could end up moving to Old Trafford.
According to reports from Italy (via GOAL), Man United are currently leading the race for Rabiot, but it appears as though a deal may not be as easy to orchestrate as it would have been in the summer, as he is currently enjoying a resurgence in Turin.
The Frenchman opted to put pen to paper on a new contract with the Italian club in the summer, and he has since solidified his place as a key player, meaning an exit is less likely to be on the cards than it was a few months ago.
At the moment, Juventus want to keep hold of the 28-year-old, despite widespread interest, with Newcastle United and several other unnamed clubs being named as potential suitors. Should the central midfielder's future in Italy come back into question, however, the Red Devils should be well-placed to win the race for his signature, considering they are currently out in front.
What type of player is Adrien Rabiot?
The Juventus star is a very well-rounded midfielder, as exhibited by the fact he is capable of posing a threat on the front foot, but also excels defensively.
Over the past year, the maestro ranks in the 96th percentile for non-penalty goals per 90, when compared to his positional peers, while also placing in the 84th percentile for clearances, and the 83rd percentile for aerials won, showcasing his ability in the air.
The France international is already off the mark for Juventus in the Serie A this season, having recorded one goal and one assist in four appearances, and he has been an indispensable member of Max Allegri's team.
However, the midfielder's long-term future in Turin is still in doubt, considering he is only contracted until next summer. As such, Man United should keep tabs on Rabiot, dubbed "sensational" in the media, ahead of the January transfer window, at which point he may be available to sign on a pre-contract agreement, making this one to watch.

Ahead of Spurs' clash against Liverpool, Maddison has played six Premier League fixtures for Tottenham since arriving from Leicester City in the summer. He's actually matching that tally in goal contributions.
The English playmaker has scored twice so far – both away from home in wins against Burnley and Bournemouth. It's his assists that are standing out, though.
Maddison has four in total, including two against Arsenal in the north London derby. His other two actually came in one game, too – the season opener against Brentford.
That actually creates a strange little quirk. All of Maddison's goals and assists have come away from home, which is very unusual for any player – especially one with so many goal contributions.
This one requires a little bit of explanation – so stick with us. Maddison is thriving in the department of shot-creating actions.
SCAs are those that lead to your team having a shot. They don't necessarily have to be an assist – they could even be a shot you have that a teammate gets a rebound from before shooting themselves, or a dribble that breaks down a defence and leads to a shot.
The important thing to note is that it is any 'action' (such as a pass, dribble or shot) within two 'actions' preceding a shot.
It's a way to measure just how creative players are and how often they're directly involved in buildups that lead to shots. Maddison currently leads the Premier League in shot-creating actions after six games.
The Englishman has 44 – 11 more than second-placed Rodri. It's worth noting just how large that gap is, too, as the next largest is a mere three from third place to fourth.
We should also point out that it's working. Maddison also leads the Premier League in goal-creating actions, which, as you might have guessed, are shot-creating actions that have led to goals. On top of it all, he's leading both stats on a per-90 basis, so it's not merely a case of him playing more minutes.

Well, that's a difficult one to answer right now. The 'easy' answer is £40m as that's what Tottenham paid Leicester City to sign him this summer. But that price was almost certainly lower than Maddison's actual value, given the Foxes were relegated last season.
FootballTransfers.com, a site that attempts to scientifically work out a player's value through data, has Maddison down as a £40m player still. They believe his sale price accurately reflected what he can do and feel he's the fourth-most valuable player in the Tottenham squad right now.
We think that maybe undersells Maddison a little and it's clear that his early-season form will dramatically increase his valuation if he keeps it up. By Christmas, we could be looking at one of the more valuable midfielders in the Premier League – if he maintains his form, of course.
How did James Maddison do last season?

Don't let Leicester's eventual relegation fool you – Maddison was excellent last season. The midfielder played in a side that struggled badly, of course, but he still managed to put up very impressive numbers.
In all, Maddison scored 10 (one penalty) and assisted nine times in a relegated side. These weren't 'lucky' numbers, either, as they pretty much match what he did the previous campaign (12 goals, 8 assists).
That certainly reflects well on the player, especially as the more specific stats all remained similar, too. Leicester's relegation certainly wasn't because Maddison struggled – quite the opposite, in fact.
Spurs can feel a little fortunate that dropping down made him easier for them to buy.
Who are James Maddison's favourite opponents?
One team stands out here: Watford. Maddison has only played them seven times, but has somehow scored five and assisted four in that time. Pretty outstanding for a midfielder.
Six of those appearances came in the Premier League for Leicester, including four assists and two goals in his most recent two fixtures. There's a goal in a sole FA Cup meeting, too.
Next is Brentford. Maddison has the same number of overall contributions (four goals, five assists), but in nine games. What's notable here, though, is that in five Premier League meetings with Brentford, the player has either scored or assisted in every single one – including two assists to kick off this season.
After that? Arsenal. Maddison's two assists this season boosted his numbers to two goals and four assists across 10 games. Spurs fans can certainly feel happy with that.

It's difficult to do better than two assists on your debut – but two assists against Arsenal will do it. That's what Maddison managed when Tottenham went to the Emirates in September.
The game finished 2-2 in what was a positive result for Spurs. Maddison walked off the pitch having assisted both, and it's difficult to do much better than that to ingratiate yourself with the new fans.
We won't be surprised, in fact, if that remains Maddison's best game in the Spurs shirt come the end of the season. It'll certainly take something very special to beat it – but we won't put that past him, either.
What is James Maddison's FPL value?
Maddison is currently valued at £7.9m on Fantasy Premier League. That makes him the eighth-most expensive midfielder right now.
That valuation has increased, too, as he kicked off the season at £7.5m. Four assists and two goals have likely bumped up his price.
And for what it's worth, Maddison is currently averaging the seventh-highest number of points per match. That suggests he's a little undervalued in price – especially as Spurs have a fairly nice run of games coming up.
How many FPL points did James Maddison have last season?
Leicester struggled badly last season, but Maddison was still able to be productive. His efforts led to 135 FPL points across the campaign – a decent number, though far down on what he managed the season before.
2021/22 saw Maddison get 181, helped on by 24 bonus points (last season he received a mere nine). You might want to consider that campaign as a better indicator of his potential, then, seeing as Spurs certainly aren't in danger of sliding down the table.

Different sites have different ways of measuring this – but all are in agreement that Maddison is shining right now.
Sofascore has Maddison down as averaging an 8.03 rating in the Premier League this season. That's the second-highest in the competition, narrowly trailing Manchester City's Rodri (8.05). One more top performance would have them rating him as the league's in-form player.

Diana Edulji has chosen not to accept the BCCI’s lifetime achievement award since she is part of the Committee of Administrators which is currently overseeing the work of the board. The 62-year old former India captain was nominated by a three-member committee on Saturday for a career that spanned from 1976 to 1993, during which she played 20 Tests and 34 ODIs.In a statement she said: “I have learnt that the BCCI awards committee has conferred the award on me. Neither me, nor any other member of the Hon’ble Supreme Court appointed Committee of Administrators were part of this awards committee.”However, since I am a member of the Hon’ble Supreme Court appointed committee of administrators of the BCCI, I do not think it is appropriate for me to accept this honour at this juncture. I have discussed my decision with my family, friends and well wishers who wholeheartedly support my decision not to accept the award during my tenure as a member of the CoA.
