Aston Villa may find it difficult to keep star goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez this summer following his sensational displays at the World Cup with Argentina – but Johan Lange could find a dream replacement in Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher.

Could Villa lose Emiliano Martinez this summer?

Former Arsenal man Martinez has been the subject of interest from a number of top clubs in England as well as on the continent, which suggests that an exit could be on the cards for the 30-year-old if he is offered Champions League football elsewhere.

Unai Emery will no doubt be keen to keep the shot-stopper as Villa look set to earn a European spot of their own, as the Argentinian has been in impressive form in recent weeks, earning clean sheets in wins against Chelsea and Newcastle United recently.

Martinez has made 29 appearances in the top flight so far this campaign and conceded just 33 times, keeping 11 clean sheets, so it is easy to see why he is attracting interest from some of the biggest names across Europe.

He also won the Golden Glove in Qatar after helping inspire Lionel Scaloni's side to glory at the World Cup, with his penalty shootout saves in wins against the Netherlands and in the final against France proving vital.

The former Reading loanee has suggested that he loves being at the club and wants to stay, but Villa fans have seen the same responses from the likes of Jack Grealish and Fabian Delph in the past, so should be prepared if he does depart.

If reports are to be believed, Johan Lange could look to bring in Liverpool 'keeper Kelleher as the long-term replacement for Martinez at Villa Park.

Could Villa sign Kelleher?

According to The Transfer Room, Kelleher is keen to leave Anfield this summer as he continues to play second fiddle to Alisson – and is an option for Villa, Leicester City and Celtic.

The report claims that Jurgen Klopp wants to keep him at the club but will also not stand in the way of him leaving, with the Reds thought to value him at around £30m.

The 24-year-old has also been a regular in Stephen Kenny's Republic of Ireland side, with the national manager describing him as an "exceptional" goalkeeper back in 2021.

Kelleher has made 20 appearances for Liverpool and kept an impressive 10 clean sheets, so is clearly a reliable man in between the sticks, while he also played a huge part in the Reds' Carabao Cup win last season.

Therefore, if the worst happens and Martinez does leave this summer, Lange could find Emery a solid replacement in the shape of the 24-year-old.

Glasgow Rangers have enjoyed some recent success in the transfer market when it comes to raking in major profit, with Calvin Bassey (£23m), Nathan Patterson (£16m) and Joe Aribo (£10m) all departing the Ibrox side for much bigger sums than expected to boost the coffers.

These have all occurred over the previous 18 months, and it looks as though the player trading model is finally working wonders in terms of generating big sums for players that have impressed in Glasgow.

Under previous managers Dick Advocaat and Alex McLeish, selling players for big money was fairly normal, and the Dutchman struck gold by selling his compatriot Giovanni van Bronckhorst back in 2001 for £8.5m to Premier League side Arsenal, clearly showing how well thought of the Scottish game was 20 years ago.

He came so close to leading the Netherlands to World Cup glory in the same year, coming up short against Spain, yet it was a playing career filled with success, and Advocaat hit the jackpot by selling him for a solid profit, albeit maybe slightly too soon.

His time as manager of the Light Blues was a mixed bag, as Scottish Cup glory and a stunning European run was offset by poor Premiership displays. Nevertheless, his role at the club across playing and coaching capacities should not be forgotten.

What's the latest on Arsenal's interest in Josip Sutalo?

According to Croatian newspaper 24sata, the Gunners are in contact with Dinamo Zagreb over the potential transfer of Josip Sutalo but are yet to submit a formal offer for his signature.

It's thought that the Prva HNL champions are demanding a fee of around €20m (£18m) and that the Premier League leaders are prepared to pay such an amount.

Dinamo have been preparing for the 23-year-old's departure for quite some time, so are open to letting him leave should their valuation be met. It's claimed that both teams will ramp up negotiations in order to strike a deal, sooner rather than later.

Who is Josip Sutalo?

Just like RB Leipzig colossus Josko Gvardiol, Sutalo has come up through the Croatian outfit's youth academy to star for both club and country in recent years. Indeed, he played in their World Cup third-place play-off and was part of the Dinamo side that narrowly lost to Chelsea in the Champions League earlier in the season.

The 6 foot 3 gem has also been linked as a potential successor to the aforementioned Gvardiol, making him seem like an absolute bargain at £18m, considering his central defensive counterpart could command a fee in the region of £90m this summer.

Described as a "highly underrated" defender by scout Jacek Kulig, Sutalo's towering presence means he can dominate aerially and be a real battering ram on the ground, with interceptions and ground duels a key facet of his game, per fellow scout Ron Dor.

It's no secret that Arsenal have faltered in recent weeks due to their weak squad depth, particularly in defence, so interest in Sutalo makes for interesting reading especially given Gvardiol's impact post-Dinamo.

Just like his up-and-coming peer, Sutalo is also adept with the ball at his feet, having registered an impressive 93.9% and 86.8% passing accuracy across the World Cup and Champions League this season, via WhoScored. This would also make him a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta and his system in north London, primarily playing out from the back.

Also lauded as "a top talent" by renowned transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, it's clear that the 23-year-old is one of the most impressive young centre-backs in Europe right now, so it's on sporting director Edu Gaspar and his recruitment staff to ensure that it's the Gunners who win the race for his coveted signature.

And given there have been tentative talks between the two clubs already, you'd imagine there's a good chance that Arsenal can land their own version of Gvardiol by making the bargain move for Sutalo this summer.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United are now one of the "two front runners" to land transfer target Alexis Mac Allister this summer.

It's no secret that the Brighton man could be on the move in the near future with his father, Carlos, admitting that the midfielder likely will be with a new club as early as July.

Indeed, he told Puroboca.com: “Normally the next [transfer window] will find him playing in another club, we don’t know which one. The talks are just beginning in general, but it is most likely that Alexis will already be playing in another team next July.”

However, there is still a big question mark regarding where exactly the Argentina World Cup winner will actually end up playing. For instance, Liverpool, Chelsea and Man United have all been named as possible destinations in the media.

And in a new update, Romano explained that if Mauricio Pochettino ends up at Chelsea, he could help sway a move but for now it's between the Red Devils and the Reds.

While talking on the Here We Go podcast, he said (13;24): “Let's see if Pochettino will change the situation of Chelsea because Pochettino of course is Argentinian. So this could be one of the points.

"But at the moment, Liverpool and United are the two front runners for Alexis Mac Allister."

It seems Mac Allister has plenty of options and it'll be interesting to see who he goes for.

Manchester United could be the favourites to sign Victor Osimhen this summer as Simon Jones reports for the Daily Mail that Erik ten Hag is "eyeing" a £130m deal for Victor Osimhen.

The Nigerian forward has attracted huge interest from around Europe with his explosive performance in Napoli's title-winning season. From powerful headers to nuanced finishes and combining with the mercurial Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen has 28 goals and five assists to his name this term.

A transfer battle has emerged between United and Chelsea which involves Christian Pulisic – the American is being put up for sale this summer and a number of Italian teams are are eyeing him, with interest from Napoli very serious.

Jones writes that "Napoli's interest (in Pulisic) could add extra spice" in the race to sign Osimhen but the Serie A outfit are demanding a mouth-watering sum of money to sell the striker. "The consensus" at United and Chelsea is that he will cost around £130million.

That figure is reportedly already a problem for Bayern Munich and they have switched their focus to Randal Kolo Muani. Chelsea meanwhile are facing scrutiny from Financial Fair Play, and while the Blues will hope to reduce the cost by using Romelu Lukaku in a swap, United are the only named suitor without a financial issue.

The Glazers signing Osimhen would be financially more straightforward but it's still a tremendous amount of money to spend on a single player – it would restrict how they could spend on other players, but it would take their attack to an incredible point.

How could Manchester United set up if they signed VIctor Osimhen?

If ten Hag signed Osimhen this summer, he would have a very enviable attack. Marcus Rashford has come into his own this season and is dominating defenders in 1v1s by using his pace and agility to skip past fullbacks. Crucially, he has taken his overall game to a new level.

In total, the Englishman has 29 goals and 11 assists and with the hope that Antony could improve next season, United are an elite centre forward away from an extremely dangerous attack.

Osimhen could be that player for ten Hag especially as Bruno Fernandes would likely flourish with so many deadly options in front of him. Cagliari boss Walter Mazzarri praised the Nigerian forward after he scored to put Napoli 1-0 up in 2021, highlighting a characteristic that would be of vital use to United.

"Osimhen is phenomenal because he runs alone at five players and gets through," Mazzarri told DAZN as quoted by Football Italia.

"If you look at genuine scoring opportunities, compared to the number Napoli created lately, I didn’t see that many."

Osimhen is in the 99th percentile for non-penalty goals and in the 97th percentile for shots on goal, according to Fbref. He's a master at creating goal scoring chances from nothing from making runs into dangerous areas and bombarding his way past defenders. If he joined United, it would spell major trouble for any sides aiming to win the 2023/24 Premier League title.
